Last week summaries: 

 

Below you will find results from last week on how the Oregon City teams fared.

 

Unified Basketball (Coaches Steve Allen, Carter Asher, Meryck Barber, Ryan Smith and Kara Donahue.

The OC Unified White Basketball Team participated in their divisional tournament last weekend at Wilsonville High School.  After playing all day the OC Unified White were crowned Division Champions.  Congratulations Unified White.

The OC Unified Red Basketball team also participated in their divisional tournament last weekend at Wilsonville and when it was all over the OC Unified Red finished in 4th place.  Great job to both of the OC Unified teams and their coaches.

Team members:  Reina Walters, Chris Arendell, Leah Kemeny, Sam Lary, Dylan Dent, Seth Sullivan, Kobe Louis, Daniel Sytsma, Zack Olson, Konnor Sumner, Parker Anderson, Vanessa Crite, Suevonna Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Austin Younger, KJ Jackson, Brandon Miller, Taylor Younger, Jacob Gould, and Dakota Freeman.

 

Pioneer Cheer and Dance (Head Coach Lisa Ramage, assisted by Lindsey Mead and Gail Hoskins)

The Jets competed in their second winter season competition.  They placed 7th at the Centennial Competition.

 

Equestrian (Head Coach Angie Wacker, advisors Evon Tekorious) 

Two weeks ago we posted the individual results from the OC Equestrian teams first contest.  Here are the team scores from the first meet.  The Pioneers easily finished in 1st place with 894 team points while West Linn finished in 2nd with 588.

 

Snowboarding (Coaches David Rovianek and David Timothy)

The OC Snowboarders were finally able to get back on the mountain last week for the Half Pipe Competition.  Garrett Cady finished 11, Camerin Keever-Nyberg finished 12th,  Kaleb Lam 14th, Wyatt Lovell 16th and Nathan Goodman 17th.  On the girls side Gabby Orton finished 2nd, Lacee Kelly 4th, and Jessie Jones 5th.

 

Boys Basketball-Varsity (Head Coach Aaron Newkirk, assisted by Brad Crosby and Eric Chirgwin)

The Pioneers went on the road last week to Lincoln High School for their first-round OSAA State Playoff game.  In a battle between #11 Lincoln and #22 Oregon City the Pioneers fell behind early and were defeated 51-45 by the Cardinals.  Teron Bradford led the scoring with 28 points and Jake Gettel added 5.  Pioneers finish the season as Co-Champions of the Mt. Hood Conference with a 17-8 overall record.

Teron Bradford was named MHC Player of the Year and was a 1st Team selection.  Corban Remsburg was named to the 2nd Team and Tyler Quinsey and Trevor Sheldon were Honorable Mention.  Coach Aaron Newkirk was named MHC Coach of the Year.

 

Girls Basketball-Varsity (Head Coach Kurt Guelsdorf, assisted by Mike Pomeranke)

The Lady Pioneers hosted a first-round OSAA State Playoff game last week on Tuesday, February 27.  The Pioneers hosted the McNary Celts out of the Greater Valley Conference and came away with a 51-41 win over McNary.  Brooke Bullock led the scoring with 17 and Kylie Guelsdorf added 11.

On Friday the Lady Pioneers traveled across the river to West Linn to take on the Lions in a second round OSAA State Playoff game.  The Pioneers jumped out to an early 8-0 lead before the Lions came back to defeat the Pios 43-39.  Kylie and Kaari Guelsdorf each scored 9 points to lead the scoring and Brooke Bullock finished with 9.  The Pioneers finished the season as Mt. Hood Conference Champions with a 17-9 overall record.

Brooke Bullock, Kaari Guelsdorf and Kylie Guelsdorf all received 1st Team MHC honors.  Allie Edwards and Rory Schedler were named Honorable Mention.
