Here is this week’s athletic calendar.  Just a reminder that for all state playoff games OSAA charges $6.00/adult and $4.00 for students (K-12). Conference or family passes are not valid for state playoff contests.

Registration for winter sports start Monday, November 6 through Thursday, November 9.  There is no school on November 10.  Winter practices start on Monday, November 13.

Last Weeks Program Results 

Below you will find results from last week on how the Oregon City teams fared.

Cheer/Dance (Head Coach Lisa Ramage, assistant coach Gail Lockard and Lindsey Mead)

The OC Pioneer Cheer/Dance team competed in their first competition of the year at Gladstone last Saturday.  The finished 4th in both routines with hip hop missing 3rd by 1 point. Pioneer Cheer/Dance members will travel to Clackamas this Saturday, November 11.  Doors open at 11:00 am.

Boys and Girls Cross Country (Head Coach Brandon Lee, assistant Coach Brent Eggers)

The girls cross country teams raced at the OSAA State Meet last Saturday for the fourth year in a row.  Kaari Guelsdorf led the Pioneers with a time of 20:38 .  She was followed by Allie Edwards at 21:46, Brynne Shroufe at 21:47, Katie Schroeder at 21:50, Shiloh Najjar at 22:22, Kylie Guelsdorf at 22:28 and Makenna Palumbo at 22:56.  The Pioneers finished 18th in the team race.

Girls Soccer (Head Coach Marshall Brewer, assistant coaches, Joey Leonetti, Tiffani Traver, Casey Clegg, Stephan Berry, and Chelsi Brewer)

Varsity- The Lady Pioneers traveled to South Eugene last Tuesday in a 2nd Round OSAA State Playoffs match.  Playing against the number 2 ranked Axemen the Pioneers answered a South Eugene score when Hailey Willett scored on a pass from sister Abi Willet.  The match ended in a 1-1 tied after 80 minutes of regulation play.  Playing two 10 minute overtime periods the Axemen struck first but Lady Pio Abi Willett found the right corner of the net with only 15 seconds left in OT to tie it at 2 apiece.  Heading into the shootout the Axemen beat the Pios 3-1 to end up winning the game 3-2. 

The Lady Pioneers finished the season as Co-Champions of the Mt. Hood Conference and a overall record of 12-3-1.

Football (Head Coach Dustin Janz, assistant coaches Bryan Swanson, Jason Daniels, Bruce Borgelt, Bob Taylor, Ed Miller, Cesar Martinez, Brian Craven, Jeremy Johnson, Justin Barchus, Chris Creelman, DeShawn McKenzie and Kelly Murphy)

Varsity-Playing in one of the most historic games in Oregon High School Football history the Pioneers opened up the 2017 State Playoffs with a home win over the Sunset Apollos 75-72.  The 147 points is the highest single game mark in Oregon High School Football history.

The Pioneers racked up over 677 yards of offense.  Zee Dennis-Lee led the way with 169 yards rushing on 14 carries and had 62 yards receiving with 5 touchdowns.  Teron Bradford caught 7 passes for 137 yards and returned a kick 88 yards for a touchdown.  Teron had two touchdowns on the night.  Ethan Kassebaum rushed for 131 yards on 12 carries and 2 touchdowns.  Austin Bonner rushed fore 112 yards and threw fore another 265 yards and three scoring passes.  Trevor Sheldon caught one pass for 56 yards to set up a score.  Wyatt Lovell hit on 7 of 8 extra point tries. 

The Pioneers will travel to Clackamas this Friday for Second Round OSAA State Playoff game.  Kick off is set for 7:00 pm.
