Boys Track and Field - OSAA 6A State Champions!

They did it!

Your Oregon City boys track and field are the OSAA 6A State Champions!

Your Pioneers came charging from behind on Saturday to score 56 points to take the title ahead of Jesuit’s 51 points, Beaverton’s 41 points, and Central Catholic’s 37 points. Rieker Daniel and Jake Harthun led the way for Oregon City. Rieker is the 2017 State Champion in the 200m, and state runner-up in the 100m. Rieker’s 200m time of 21.49 is the 14th fastest time in Oregon history! Jake Harthun took 2nd in the 400 and 7th in the 200. Lane Marshall threw a new school sophomore class record in the discus to place 4th, and also finished 5th in the shot put. Fellow sophomore Jake Follett had a great season’s best jump to finish 5th in the long jump. Juniors Israel Miles and Luke Peyton both took home 7th place medals.  Izzy placed in the high hurdles and Luke scored in the javelin. Both of our relays placed as well with the 4x100 team of Mark Mironichenko, Rieker Daniel, Israel Miles and Jake Harthun finishing a very close 3rd, and the 4x400 team of Mark Mironichenko, Wyatt Lovell, Rieker Daniel and Jake Harthun taking 4th. For the Oregon City girls, Kiara Miles and Sarah Hippler finished in a 5th place tie in the pole vault, with both ladies clearing an incredible 11’!!!  Great job to all the athletes who participated in Eugene this weekend, and congratulations again to the boys for bringing the state title home to Oregon City!
