This past weekend Jayne Fraley competed against other Army JROTC programs across the United States. She competes on a precision class air rifle team in the JROTC program at the Oregon City High School, and qualified individually to compete in a higher level of competition. The competition was hosted by the Civilian Marksmanship Program at a location in Chandler, Arizona. On her first day of competition, Jayne finished with a score of 592 out of 600, just 2 points out of first place. On the second day of the match, Jayne shot a 586 out of 600. Later that day she competed in the final and ended up taking 3rd place overall.
Jayne Fraley practices with the JROTC program and with Tri-County Gun Club’s junior precision team. She is the current smallbore state champion and will be going to the Junior Olympics in April. She is looking at competing on the United States Naval Academy Rifle Team next year on a full scholarship.
