Patriots Day Remembrance Ceremony

Event Date:
Tuesday, September 11, 2018 - 6:00pm

Origin of Patriots Day

Patriot Day was signed into law on November 30, 2001, by President George W. Bush as an annual observance to remember those who were inijured or died on September 11, 2001.  In 2009 President Barack Obama expanded the commemoration to recognize it as a National Day of Service and Remembrance.  It is not a federal holiday, but all United States flags accross the country are flown at half-staff.

Please join us this year as we remember, commend, and honor the victims of 9/11 and the dedicated firefighters who risk their lives every day to keep us safe.

The 45 minute program will include:
   *  Oregon City High School Band
   *  Oregon City High School JROTC Honor Guard

   *  Local dignitaries
   *  National Anthem
   *  Portland Police Highland Guard
   *  Clackamas Firefighters Pipes and Drums
   *  Five special tributes to 9/11 victims and firefighters
   *  Rifle Salute
   *  Taps

*Chair availability will be limited. You are welcome to bring your own.
