unheard of winning streak to four games. Oregon City dismantled Reynolds by a final score of: Oregon City 48 - Reynolds 19.
The Pioneer defense, yet again this season, set the tone early. Reynolds could not find something called offense the entire first quarter. That was not the case for Oregon City early on.
Junior linebacker Kiahve Dennis-Lee said, "We started off slow but, we are making a comeback. Working hard every day, and playing with more drive and motivation."
The Pioneers first possession of the game resulted in a touchdown. A 78 yard reverse, in which junior playmaker Trevon Bradford did what he does best- "score touchdowns."
Early on in the first quarter Oregon City led 6-0.
On the next Pioneer possession senior quarterback, Thomas Hamilton led the offense down the field with ease. Hamilton capped off the drive as he dove into the endzone from a yard out to end the first quarter with the Pioneers up 13-0.
Hamilton made plays with his arm as well. Hamilton threaded the needle to junior wideout Sam Maughan who took the bullet 89 yards to the endzone with roughly eight minutes left in the first half.
Hamilton said, "We are coming together as a team. Everyone's starting to find their role and do their job."
The Pioneers scored one more touchdown before the half when junior running back Connor Mitchell found daylight from five yards out.
Reynolds rushed for a pair of touchdowns before the half. The Raiders defense before the half forced Hamilton to throw an interception.
At the half Oregon City held a commanding 27-12 lead.
The Pioneers continued to score and displayed no mercy in the second half. Early on in the third quarter Hamilton connected with Bradford through the air.
At the end of the third quarter Oregon City led 34-12.
Oregon City leaned on the run game during the fourth quarter. Mitchell continued to find holes in the defense and found ways to make big plays. As the clock wound down in the fourth, Mitchell dashed to the endzone for a 78 yard touchdown.
Hamilton finished the night 7-17 for 198 yards passing. A pair of passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and an interception.
Mitchell completed a solid night with 13 carries for 156 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Reynolds would continue to pound the ground. They would score one more touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Friday night belonged to the Pioneers along with the Oregon City Alumni that supported their former school on homecoming night.
