Welcome Principal Wilhelm

Oregon City School District named Carey Wilhelm as the Oregon City High School Principal to begin July 1, 2019. Wilhelm currently serves as associate principal in the Sherwood School District. She will replace Tom Lovell, retiring after six years in the role.

A message from Principal Welhelm:  "I am excited and honored to be joining the great team at Oregon City High School.  OCHS has a strong tradition of sucess and I am inspired by the amazing students, staff, and families that make up this community.  I look forward to serving and partnering with such a great group of people.  Go Pios!"

Carey earned a BA in history and MAT from Willamette University.

She served as a teacher of mathematics and coached basketball and track at Woodburn High School before being selected as a teacher on special assignment (TOSA) for academic intervention, student discipline and staff development.

"Carey was chosen after completing a rigorous selection process that included several interviews, a visit to OCHS and a site visit to Sherwood HS by a district team," said Superintendent Larry Didway. "She is recognized by students, staff and families for her sustained efforts to build relationships and promote a welcoming community."  She describes herself as someone who strives to be “a passionate principal with a focus on building relationships, equity, and excellence.”

Please welcome Carey Wilhelm to our Oregon City team!
